Oligosaccharides in Beer

High-performance liquid chromatography is widely used for the analysis of sugars. However, due to the numerous types of sugars, the optimal separation and detection method must be selected for each sample. The figure shows the analysis of oligosaccharides in beer using separation by the partition method, which can be used to analyze sugars from monosaccharides to decamers, and detection with a differential refractive index detector.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph

High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph

A liquid medium flows through the flow channels of a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). When a sample is introduced into the instrument, the components of the sample are separated in a column and the amount of each component is measured by a detector. Use a system incorporating a differential refractive index detector for this analysis.
