Shimadzu Review 80[1・2] (2023)

Abstract

UX stands for user experience, the experience a user has when using a product or service. In recent years, as users’ needs have diversified and the market has matured, it has become difficult to promote products solely on the basis of their performance and functions. On the other hand, it is believed that providing superior UX improves the added value of products and services, leading to the acquisition of differentiation factors and competitive advantages. Shimadzu Corporation has also been improving the UX in the development of the console for its angiographic system Trinias (Opera) and was able to realize a console that can be operated without stress by medical workers. This article presents a practical example of the UX enhancement process with the development of the console for Trinias (Opera).
