Abstract
Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been promoting efforts to realize new “Logistics MaaS” services for solving challenges in the logistics industry. Shimadzu has developed new expertise for increasing transportation and delivery efficiency in logistics operations by utilizing the hydraulic IoT system developed by Shimadzu to achieve the visibility of cargo handling operations at truck logistics sites, which were previously opaque “black-box” operations. This article describes Shimadzu’s efforts to realize Logistics MaaS thus far and initiatives being implemented currently.
