Observation of Green-sheet dispersed with silica spheres
This image shows a green sheet composed of amorphous silica spheres. The spherical particles were synthesized by a sol-gel method, and the sheet was obtained by tape-casting method using the particles and some organic binders. Information on dispersion of the particles is indispensable to synthesize dense ceramic sheets because the dispersion much affects sintering behavior such as density of sintered sheets. This image clearly showed the spherical particles closely contained in the sheet.
