November 28, 2023 | News & Notices Pro Golfer Mao Saigo Wins the Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament
Pro golfer Mao Saigo (hereinafter Saigo), who is sponsored by Shimadzu Corporation, won the 39th Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament in the Japan Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association (JLPGA) Tour 2023 season, held at Great Island Club (Chiba Prefecture) on November 10 to 12. This is her sixth tour win in total in about a year and a half since the Bridgestone Ladies Open in May last year.
Saigo entered the final day in first place. Although she struck a bogey on the par 3 2nd, she widened her distance from second place with 3 consecutive birdies starting from the par 5 5th. By the end, she won with a total of 16 under, 3 shots better than second place. After appearing in the Daio Paper elleair Ladies Open (held on the 16th in Ehime), she is expected to appear from November 30 in the final qualifying round (Q series, Magnolia Grove, Alabama, USA) to fight for a place in next season’s American tour.
