December 12, 2024 | News & Notices Mao Saigo Wins Rookie of the Year on the U.S. LPGA Tour
Mao Saigo, a professional golfer affiliated with Shimadzu Corporation, was named “Rookie of the Year” on the U.S. LPGA tour, on which she has been competing full-time since this season. She achieved a good result, finishing in the top 10 seven times (including two second places) out of 29 games, and became only the second Japanese player to achieve this feat in 34 years since Hiromi Kobayashi (currently Chairman of the Japan Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association) in 1990. Saigo compete in the LPGA again in 2025.
