January 21, 2025 | News & Notices Participation in the Battery Association for Supply Chain and the Japan Hydrogen Association

Shimadzu Corporation has participated in the Battery Association for Supply Chain (BASC) and the Japan Hydrogen Association (JH2A). BASC was established in 2021 as an organization involved in the international standardization of the battery supply chain, and the construction of a battery ecosystem. JH2A was established in 2022 with the objective of creating demand for hydrogen and quickly constructing a hydrogen society through problem solving including cost reductions from technological innovations.

Shimadzu is pursuing planetary health with an eye to a sustainable future, and has established healthcare, green transformation, materials, and industry as four domains of social value creation. As concerns about environmental problems are heightened, the development and improvement of lithium-ion batteries and other techniques for the storage of electricity, as well as promotion of the usage of hydrogen, clean energy that is free from CO2 emissions, are indispensable for realizing a decarbonized society. Shimadzu Corporation is engaging in collaborations with related businesses, and is providing analytical and measuring instrument technology and products, our forte, for use in research and development involving electrical storage technology and hydrogen. We will continue to contribute to the battery supply chain and the hydrogen value chain, taking initiatives for the realization of a decarbonized society.
