Responding to Increasing Demand for Commercial Aircraft

On April 1, 2025, Shimadzu Corporation merged Shimadzu Aircraft Equipment Service Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto; President & CEO: Takashi Sakai) with Shimadzu Aerotech Manufacturing, Inc. (Head Office: Nakagyo-ku; President & CEO: Yuji Hongo), with Shimadzu Aerotech Manufacturing, Inc. as the surviving corporation. Shimadzu Aerotech is involved in the manufacturing of equipment for aircraft, and Shimadzu Aircraft Equipment Service was involved in the manufacturing of ground support equipment for aircraft. In order to respond to increasing demand for aircraft, The new corporation after the merger, Shimadzu Aerotech will strengthen their manufacturing bases through consolidated management, concentrating the aircraft equipment manufacturing techniques of both companies, including the heat treatments required to improve the Toughness and strength of materials. Shimadzu Aerotech provides actuators for flight control systems using Advanced technologies and high precise machining techniques, supporting the safety of aircraft.
