Contribution to advanced research using Shimadzu diffraction grating

Synchrotron Radiation Facilities

Shimadzu supplies diffraction gratings to synchrotron radiation facilities in Japan and overseas.
Synchrotron radiation generated at synchrotron radiation facilities is guided to experimental facilities (beamlines) optimized for each application and used for various research and development.
By manufacturing diffraction gratings (master diffraction gratings) that can be used in the optical arrangement of each beamline requested, we contribute to advanced experiments and research using synchrotron radiation.

Planetary Spectroscopic Observation Satellite "Hisaki"

The Planetary Spectroscopic Observation Satellite "Hisaki" (SPRINT‒A), equipped with a diffraction grating manufactured by Shimadzu, is a space telescope dedicated to planetary observation that remotely observes Venus, Mars, Jupiter, etc. from the orbit of the satellite orbiting the Earth.
By observing extreme ultraviolet light in outer space, which cannot be detected on Earth, we analyze the atmosphere of planets and contribute to the elucidation of their mysteries.
