Release of the Video “Towards a Sustainable Future”
Contributing to Solving Societal Challenges through Business Activities

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international targets for the period between 2016 and 2030. They are described in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” which was adopted at a United Nations summit in September 2015. Even before these SDGs were adopted, Shimadzu Corporation was addressing societal challenges earnestly based on our corporate philosophy of “Contributing to Society through Science and Technology” and taking initiatives to solve them through business activities. Shimadzu will continue to support a sustainable future by leveraging our technological capabilities and adaptability, with the vision of 2030 as depicted in the SDGs.

“Towards a Sustainable Future” summarizes these corporate initiatives and concepts in a 30-second video. This video can be viewed on the digital signage in the concourse at JR Kyoto Station. In addition, billboards reading “Towards a Sustainable Future” are posted on the Shinkansen platform at JR Kyoto Station and on the platform for the Keihin-Tohoku Line at JR Tokyo Station.
