Shimadzu Middle East & Africa Opens a New Facility in Dubai, UAE! Aiming for Further Commitment to the Region

On March 5th, Shimadzu Middle East & Africa (hereinafter referred to as SMEA), the Shimadzu Group’s Middle East & Africa regional headquarters, held an opening ceremony for its new facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai. More than 100 people including guests, partners, suppliers, and Shimadzu employees attended the ceremony.

Promoting Innovation and Expansion of Business in the Middle East & Africa Region

Mr. Yasunori Yamamoto, President and CEO of Shimadzu Corporation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech in which he thanked the guests and stakeholders for their daily cooperation and introduced Shimadzu's corporate philosophy, history and current initiatives. He emphasized the desire to contribute to society and work together in the future to expand business in the Middle East and Africa region.

After the ceremony, Mr. Raj Makhamale, Director of Analytical and Measuring Division SMEA, organized a tour of the facility and the guests visited the analytical measurement laboratory and the medical training center.

Since its establishment in 2007, SMEA has been providing customers with advanced technologies and solutions in both analytical and medical fields. SMEA is expanding its system GC integration capabilities and improving its logistics functions to increase its market share in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors, a key industry in the region.

The new center aims to further its commitment to the region and expand its impact by serving as a space for application development, customer and partner training, and demonstrations of both product capabilities and complete workflow solutions to customers from various markets such as food, environmental, pharmaceutical, clinical, forensics. In addition, SMEA plans to strengthen the online and offline support system by providing sales and technical support, promoting the development of analytical methods, and expanding the facilities.
