Shimadzu has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2024 in the Brands & Communication Design, Interface & User Experience Design category for its angiography system, the “Trinias Series with SCORE Opera.” This marks the first time Shimadzu has received an award in this category.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's largest design competitions, organized by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The award is divided into three disciplines: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept. The Brands & Communication Design award honors products and services that demonstrate design excellence in a variety of categories, including branding, advertising, packaging design, UI (user interface), and UX (user experience). Shimadzu has also received four Red Dot Design Awards 2024 in the Product Design category for its analytical and measuring instruments.

Angiography system “Trinias series with SCORE Opera”

The Trinias series is an angiography system designed to assist physicians by capturing X-ray images of blood vessels and providing visual feedback during intravascular catheter examinations and procedures. It offers an optimal environment and efficient workflow for examinations and procedures through its extensive operational range and customizable console. The console features a customizable touch panel functionality that reduces the number of operation steps, and levers with unique shapes for each function. The overall length of the console is designed to facilitate operation without requiring the operator to move. These features enable operators to focus on the patient and monitors without needing to look at the console, facilitating a more efficient operation.
