January 17, 2020 | News & Notices Medical Systems Sales Subsidiary Established in Vietnam to Expand Medical Systems Business in Asia
On January 1, 2020, Shimadzu Corporation established Shimadzu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SVC), a sales subsidiary for the Medical Systems segment in Vietnam. In 1997, Shimadzu established Shimadzu Vietnam Medical Hi-Tech Co., Ltd. (SVM), a Medical Systems manufacturing subsidiary as a joint venture with capital from Vietnam and Hong Kong. SVM mainly deployed business to public hospitals. To promote the aftermarket business and achieve new business expansion as the Vietnam market matures, SVM will transition from being a joint venture of three companies to a wholly-owned subsidiary. SVC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte., Ltd. (SAP), which is a regional headquarter of the Asia region for Shimadzu Corporation. By carrying on the business activities cultivated over 23 years by SVM and further strengthening consolidated management of Shimadzu operations in Asia, SVC will strive to expand Medical Systems businesses by building the capabilities necessary for quick decision-making in the rapidly changing market environment.
