Aiming to solve increasingly complex societal challenges, Shimadzu has established three facilities as places for enhancing knowledge and promoting rapid communications to create new value through innovation. We work with outside partners to promote co-creation and collaboration in fundamental technology research at the SHIMADZU Future Collaboratory, application technology development at Shimadzu Tokyo Innovation Plaza, and product development at KYOLABS. Shimadzu is also working on development at the Shimadzu Nagasaki Collaboration Lab, which is focused on leveraging the technological capabilities of Nagasaki Prefecture.
SHIMADZU Future Collaboratory
This space for collaborating with outside researchers through open innovation was established at the Technology Research Laboratory, where Shimadzu researches the basic technologies needed to create innovative next-generation products. The seeds that arise when researchers’ ideas resonate with each other are nurtured to give shape to the mutual wishes they envision for the future.

Shimadzu Tokyo Innovation Plaza
This application technology development site was established within the Tonomachi King Skyfront international strategic zone to create new industries in life science or environmental fields. Taking advantage of its prime location near Haneda Airport, we will develop or jointly research advanced analytical techniques in collaboration with customers worldwide.

KYOLABS
KYOLABS is a space for co-creation and collaboration established in the Healthcare R&D Center at Sanjo Works in Kyoto. By enabling Shimadzu engineers involved in product development to collaborate and cooperate with outside partners in various fields, KYOLABS will help generate new ideas and provide solutions to the challenges facing society.
Shimadzu Nagasaki Collaboration Lab
The goal of the Shimadzu Nagasaki Collaboration Lab is to utilize the strengths of Nagasaki Prefecture and Nagasaki City and the innovative technical capabilities of research institutions and other organizations within the prefecture and apply them to Shimadzu products, services, and internal operations. The facility will also be used to develop Shimadzu human resources and acquire human resources in the Nagasaki area.
