August 6, 2024 | News & Notices Shimadzu Receives “Platinum Kurumin” Certification from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare for Helping Employees Balance Work and Childcare

On June 14th, Shimadzu Corporation received “Platinum Kurumin” certification from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare. “Kurumin” certification is based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children, and companies that meet the certification criteria are eligible to receive certification as a “Child Rearing Support Company.” Shimadzu has been certified as a “Kurumin” company since 2009, and has now been awarded “Platinum Kurumin” status.This certification recognizes companies that achieve high levels of excellence in childcare support. We received the award in recognition of our 45 % male employee childcare leave take-up rate, the 98 % of female employees who remain in the company (including those using childcare leave) until the child’s first birthday, and the career development training for female employees who are balancing work and childcare, among other efforts.
