Shimadzu Corporation has developed the all-new e-Hydro, an electrically controlled motorized hydraulic system. This innovative system represents a new era of integration, combining a specially developed e-Hydro electric motor with a low-noise hydraulic pump, *1 all the seamlessly controlled by intelligent equipment. This new system offers a quiet and efficient operational environment for commercial vehicles and special-purpose vehicles. As the industry experiences a significant shift towards electrics vehicles (EVs), these capabilities are now becoming increasingly essential in meeting the evolving demands of the market.

Special-purpose vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and other work machinery utilize hydraulic systems that convert a small force into a large force to move heavy loads. In recent years, there has been a notable push for carbon neutrality even among special-purpose vehicles and construction machinery. This drive is propelling the transition from internal combustion engines to EVs forward. EVs require an electric moto to power the hydraulic pump replacing the need for an internal combustion engine. Given the limited space and weight constraints of the battery in EVs, achieving high efficiency is crucial for both the hydraulic pump and electric motor. This new system helps achieve space savings and improve minimal power consumption, enhancing the overall performance of the user’s equipment. Furthermore, integrating a low noise hydraulic pump helps minimize operational noise, which is particularly important in nighttime and urban settings.
