The Shimadzu LCMS-2050 high-performance liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer, the Brevis GC-2050 gas chromatograph, and the ICPMS-2040/2050 ICP mass spectrometer won the internationally recognized iF Design Award 2024 in the product design category.
iF Design Award is the world's longest-standing international design award. iF International Forum Design, based in Hannover, Germany, selects and awards outstanding designs every year. This year, about 11,000 design applications gathered from 72 countries and regions are evaluated by 132 design experts on criteria including brand image, impact on society, product legitimacy, functional beauty, and aesthetics. Shimadzu Corporation ranked sixth out of 658 companies and organizations in the world in the industry sector with the iF Design Ranking of 2020-2024.

LCMS-2050 High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer
LC-MS separates compounds with a liquid chromatograph (LC) and analyzes their mass with a mass spectrometer (MS). Previous LC-MS required installation space next to an LC, but this instrument has been reduced to a size that can be integrated inside the LC. This instrument has the same operability as LC, high throughput with high speed, high sensitivity, and a wide mass range, features carried over from our mass spectrometers. With a design that seamlessly integrates into the LC system and intuitive operation materials, even current LC users can easily operate the instrument. The integration of simple automation functions and an AI-learned peak integration algorithm ensures reliable data acquisition without manual parameter configuration.

Brevis GC-2050 Gas Chromatograph
Gas chromatograph (GC) is an analytical instrument that measures the type and amount of components in a compound. The Brevis GC-2050 is 35 % narrower than previous models and achieves high throughput even in a small laboratory. As with the high-end Nexis GC-2030 model, this instrument is equipped with the latest support functions and convenient maintenance performance, so even inexperienced users can obtain stable analysis results. The design is expressed with various black materials and a clear color scheme that emphasizes the compact size when installed alone and creates a sense of rhythm when multiple units are installed. ICPMS-2040/2050 ICP Mass Spectrometer
ICP mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) is analytical instrument that qualify and quantify inorganic elements. Though demand for multielement analyses has been increasing for higher efficiency, previous ICP-MS equipment is difficult to adopt due to its complex operation and the high cost of argon gas. The standard ICPMS-2040 model and the high-sensitivity ICPMS-2050 model can together accommodate a wide range of applications.
