A feature of Kyoto cloisonné is its fine wire techniques that use silver threads to craft everyday items such as accessories and obi belt drawstrings, in addition to handicrafts. Here, we were asked to create switches and other intricate parts. Using the techniques of transparent cloisonné we made switches, that when turned on, become transparent to light creating an image of clouds and air. I hope this delicate representation will play a role in expressing the overall intricate functionality of the instrument. And I hope that again that people will come to appreciate the charm and beauty of cloisonné.
