Kintsugi (golden repair)

We have also handled kintsugi, a technique now recognized the world over.
Kintsugi is a maki-e technique in which damaged ceramics are fastened together with lacquer, missing parts are molded using a lacquer base, and a final layer of lacquer applied to match the appearance of original utensil.
Here, because of the technical limitations of the material, we are using keshifun maki-e.
