Shimadzu Middle East & Africa FZE (hereinafter, SMEA), a Shimadzu Group company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), exhibited at ARABLAB 2024 held at Dubai World Trade Centre on September 24 to 26.
What is ARABLAB?
ARABLAB is one of the biggest trade shows for the laboratory and analytical industry in the Middle East and Africa region, which has been organized for more than 35 years. There are around 1,000 exhibitors, and more than 10,000 people visit the exhibition from the UAE, as well as India, China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries over three days. Visitors come from a wide range of industries, including universities and research institutes, pharmaceuticals, environmental analysis, petrochemicals, construction, forensics, agriculture, and general manufacturing.
Complementing the exhibition, there are seminars during the period, with focus on areas such as food, petroleum, medicine, chemistry, and environmental analysis.
Shimadzu Booth: Introduced Solutions to Improve Laboratory Productivity
With the theme "Living Laboratory," the Shimadzu booth highlighted that interconnecting Shimadzu’s hardware and software components enables digital transformation (DX) and improves laboratory productivity.
The LCMS-TQ RX series triple quadrupole mass spectrometers released in May and GCMS-QP 2050 quadrupole gas chromatograph mass spectrometers released at the end of last year were unveiled to customers in this region for the first time.
The LCMS-TQ RX series (center in the photo) is an instrument designed for manufacturers and CROs in the fields of pharmaceuticals, environment, and food, providing high sensitivity, stability, and easy operation.
In the GCMS-QP 2050, the structure of the part that ionizes the sample has been simplified and the working time required for maintenance has been shortened from about 25 minutes to about 1 minute (in the photo, it is in combination with the GC-2050).
Other analytical solutions including the latest high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC), gas chromatographs (GC), spectrophotometers, consumables, and testing machines were also introduced.
At the top of the booth, a conceptual diagram of the booth theme "Living Laboratory" and a corporate advertisement "SCIENCE: THE ALLY OF DREAMS. SHIMADZU" were displayed.
SMEA members held seminars on the theme of "Shimadzu’s solutions for food safety."
SMEA Strengthened its Facilities and Systems through the Construction of a New Office
Since its establishment in 2007, SMEA has been providing customers with advanced technologies and solutions in both analytical and medical system fields. In March of this year, SMEA built a new head office in a different location with the aim of expanding its business. SMEA is expanding its system GC production capabilities and improving its logistics functions to increase its market share in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors, a key industry in the Middle East and Africa region.
The new building also serves as a space for application development, instrument demonstrations, as well as product training for customers from various markets such as food, environment, pharmaceuticals, clinical, and forensics.
